A 10km loop around central Birmingham’s quiet streets and canal towpaths, out to Edgbaston Reservoir Nature Reserve and back. This run is best done in daylight as not all the route is lit at night. You may have to run past lots of tourists along the canal if the weather is nice!

Pictorial directions:
Start at Council House. Cross Victoria Sq. Run down Pinfold St. Right into Navigation St.
Go under flyover. Turn right up path to Holliday St. Left along Holliday St.
Go under bridge. First left onto canal. Left at canal. Follow round corner and keep on.
Through Broad St tunnel, past Sealife Centre. Continue along canal towpath away from city.
Continue along canal under 3 road bridges.
Edgbaston Reservoir is a popular spot to relax and escape the city. See wildlife, woodlands, and grasslands perfect for birdwatching or a picnic. You might also see sailors, rowers, and fishermen.
After 3rd road bridge, run over footbridge over canal on left. Exit canal onto Rotton Park St.
Turn right at end of Rotton Park St. Run up to pedestrian crossing, cross road, enter Edgbaston reservoir.
Do 1 complete loop of reservoir. Run back to canal (same route). Turn left onto canal. Cross over bridge to other side. Turn right to head back along canal towards city.
Follow canal back to Brindley Place going under 3 road bridges.
Cross over footbridge past Sealife Centre to Malt House pub.
Through Broad St tunnel again (on other side). Exit canal at James Brindley Canalhouse pub. Left up Bridge St.
The ICC is striking in its architecture and hosts many events, such as international conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and corporate functions.
Cross over Broad St. Right in front of Rep Theatre. Follow path back to city centre.
Follow path around Town Hall back to start by Council House.
