Run under Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and High-Level Bridge.

The Tyne Bridge has been the symbol of the city since its completion in 1928, along with the High-Level Bridge, which opened in 1849 and is a double-deck bridge allowing road and rail traffic. The Swing Bridge was an engineering marvel in the Victorian era as it was one of the first bridges designed with a rotating section allowing ships to pass.

In the park, you’ll find tennis courts, basketball courts, and open grassy areas for a game of frisbee. The Jubilee Gates were added in 1896 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, and over time, the park was developed further with the addition of deer and aviaries.
